Welcome!

We are so happy that you are interested in learning more about the Church of the 49ers! Officially, we are known as First Presbyterian Church of Columbia, and we have been continuously serving this community since we were founded during the height of the Gold Rush in 1854.

At the Church of the 49ers, we truly believe that God is the gold! In all that we do, we strive to serve and worship God in spirit and truth, to live faithful lives according to God’s Word, and to be known for our love for others and our voice of hope in the world. We are a church who believes in the Word of God, who centers all we do around Jesus Christ, and who desires to see all people come into a saving relationship with Him.

We would love to see you at worship on Sunday mornings at 10 am; children’s Sunday School is available. Please also join us on the first Wednesday of the month at 6 pm (March -October) for our free community dinner.
